Default Brassia NOID - I call it Green Heaven....

A hybrid I believe, and I bought it with a name, but the tag got lost. Flowers some 11 or 12 inches high - north-south, and some fragrance. I grow a lot of these Brassias ( I have pics of another of them to post tomorrow maybe ), but usually they have a yellow/brown cast in colour. This one being a cool minty sort of green is rather different and a great favourite - of all who see it. But no-one can tell me what its called. Any ideas would be very welcome - I have the AOS app and Orchid-wiz so I can look to see if the idea seems right...

I grow these in what I call aquaculture - known also as S/H But they seem to like a more open media than my usual supercoarse Pelite, so Perlag is an option. I am going to try a new material in that line- Growstones, when I can divide one of my plants. Any experience of this, anyone ?

I think it's called: Brassia gireoudiana. You can find it online and one dealer said that it's a rare species.

I like your name betta (as they say in Hawaii), it's easier to pronouce. Brasia gee who what?

Beautiful! I wish I could be of more help with the media. I only had phal media available to repot mine in at the time but the Brassa took to it and bloomed. I am interested to hear what others have to say about the Growstones. I have heard of it but don't really know anything about it.

Looks a lot like Brassia verrucosa, which is one of the few green-dominated brassias. The lip shape appears to agree with verrucosa. Gireoudiana is more brownish-yellow.

Thanks for the guidance and suggestions ; after a bit more work, I think it is Br. gireoudiana v alba . I keep 'Green Heaven' as the cultivar name , and maybe when a bit bigger ( more than a single growth and spike) I will put it up to t he RHS, to see if I can get an award for it.
