Cattleya to be ID pse

This is one of the Cattelyas I rescued some 5 years ago - blooming for the first time. There is a second sheath on the way. In the books I read they say 2-5 blooms for labiata, but here I have only one and one in the second sheath yet to open, so maybe NOT labiata? Would love to label it. Am thrilled with this one......

Very nice but I don't think this is labiata Lin. Some one with more knowledge might be able tofigure it out but I think it has a few other relatives in its background. Probably Rhyncholaelia or Brassavola or both. A single flower on a 1st blooming is usual whatever it is.

Thanks Chris, first blooming for me, that is! Although it must have bloomed at LEAST once before as this lady I got it from would buy them when in bloom and then just abandon them in a FULL sun patio and they were all scalded by the sun when I took them on.....will see if someone else responds...unless I can track down the original owner here and see if they have an ID. Thanks a ton!

This is a pretty typical appearance for a first generation hybrid of Rhyncholaelia digbyana with a large Cattleya species like C. labiata or C. mossiae, etc. Of course, more complex hybrids of similar background would also be indistinguishable, and there are thousands of them. It just isn't possible to know which one. It definitely is not C. labiata or any other Cattleya species.

Thank you so much This is the consensus - pse excuse my ignorance with regard to SPECIES and HYBRIDS! Grateful for your help! Label going up now!
On a different note - our rainy season has just started here...I water twice a week when it's very hot and dry before the rains - but the DIFFERENCE in my plants with the RAINS is just like a miracle! The appearance changes INSTANTLY - like they are all dancing in the rain and SMILING!
