There are several clones of C.moorena about ; I have 'Brockenhurst', 'Westonbirt' and now this one - ;Magnifica'. On its day it is the best although there is not much in it. The plant is in about a 9 inch pot, and is just up to 4 leads - it was 3 last year. But Coelogynes are funny things in one respect - they don't seem to have regular habits for root forming. These two leads flowering now ( the other 2 were in flower in the summer ) have made the bulbs you see, but no roots on them at all. I hope they will start to root as the flowers go over. maybe thats why the flowers here are not the best I have seen. But still a nice plant I think.

No. And come to think of it, Coelogyne is one genus where I never stake, never need to stake.

I don't stake mine (cristata, flacida, rochusseni) because the inflorescence are pendant. Didn't know that mooreana's are upright.
