    Default Sophronitis cernua

Sophronitis cernua is warm growing and therefore probably the easiest Sophronitis to care for, at least for us who don't have a cold humid space. All the Sophronitis species are now considered Cattleyas. I will still label mine Sophronitis.

Very Nice! Did you get this as a seedling or division?

Thanks. The vendor didn't say but based on what I see, it is a division.

The amount of bloom is impressive, good color too. I have one that is a seedling, it is growing good, but it has not bloomed yet.

Thanks. My plant grew very slowly in the beginning, maybe because I kept it on the dryer side. Then I read that it really likes a lot of water. With respect to the blooms, more shoots harboring buds are being produced so I guess it will be blooming for some time. It needs a lot of light to bloom well.

Thanks for the advice, I will mist it daily. I have the Soph. cernua under good light.

I wonder if there is a difference between watering and misting. Wouldn't a heavy drenching or soaking be considered watering more than misting would? I have often wondered about it.
