    Default Digbyana???

Any one have an idea the name of this orchid, I picked it up at a yard sale and the lady didn't have a clue. I think that it must be a digbyana hybrid but who knows.

Well, I think it is a hybrid though with digbyna as one of the parents. The other parent, I don't know? Digbyana has a much more fimbriated lip. This one is not, suggesting it has an immediate digbyana parent.

I'm quite sure Hoa's correct - it doesn't look enough like the species, but it is close. Unfortunately, there are 330 digbyana crosses. Blc. Rio's Green Magic might be close, but it's hard to say for certain.

I actually have the species which is just about to bloom and the leaves are quite different. I only get one bloom on the species and there are two per sheath on this particular plant. This plant's leaves are very shiny and some what whimpy as where the species is thick with no shine at all.

I've had a couple of digbyanas and their lip is hairy. This certainly has the influence, but it's not hairy. And as you say, the leaves are matte.
