Another in the long line of Dendrobi, Section Densiflorum species. To many eyes , pretty well indistinguishable from one another, but all worth growing since they flower at different times. This one always flowers in August for me, and that is a pretty flat month for orchid flowers generally - in fact when I joined my first orchid society - more years ago than I care to remember , they did not have a meeting at all in August . "What is there to look at.they said" . Of course there were no phallies around back then, and the choice of orchids to grow was much more limited than it is now.
Not a very vigorous plant , but it now occurs to me that it has been in that pot a long time. I see that it has a new growth oin now ; when the flowers go over , and they don't last too long on this species, I will think of washing off all the old compost and giving it a new home.
