Paph violascens and papuanum

The following question is not supposed to be easy

I would like to know precisely the difference between paph violascens and paph papuanum (habitat, foliage, flowers,…).
Any information reply will be welcome.

Indeed, I have now a paph papuanum (or violascens) in bud. I already saw its flower on photograph. I obtained a division of this plant, therefore I would not be disappointed by the flower.

On the other hand, I have many difficulties to differentiate both.

Obviously, I will post also a photograph on this forum when the flower is open.

Phillipe,

There are a few differences between Paph. violascens and Paph. papuanum vegetation and growth.

Paph. violascens have silver leaves with dark green mottling. The leaves are held stiffly and upright, slightly obtuse, with a leaf span on a mature plant about 15cm-17cm. This species tends to grow quite fast.

Paph. papuanum is a similar species, which has light green leaves with dark green mottling. Leaves are droopy and not stiff, narrow, with a somewhat shorter leaf span then Paph. violascens.
