Milt Lennart Karl Gottling 'Red'

This is a recent acquisition. I love Miltonias but they are usually not very kind to me growing-wise. I'm slowly learning how to grow these. I was told to repot these in late fall. Repotting in the spring does not give the plant enough time to grow roots in time for the summer heat. I never understood why my Milts would die after a spring repotting. Now I understand.

Oh, I won't know if it's fragrant until after the last few buds open. I've noticed that Miltonias don't show their fragrance until most or all their flowers (on one stem) have opened.

Milts are hard to grow. Probably my favorite genus: their rose scent will fill your house; their pansy flowers are five inches top to bottom; and their colorful splashes and waterfalls will brighten any mood!

But they like cool temps, even moisture, and can be very unforgiving!

Despite my words of gloom, give them a try if you can find a plant in bloom. If you can rebloom it, you've proven you're an Uber Orchid Grower! If not, you've enjoyed an amazing flower for about what cut flowers would cost for the duration!

They're pretty much cool growers, Cin. I don't think they'd care for Florida temps. They wants 60's.

If I am correct Karl Lennart Gottling is Miltoniopsis Pearl Ono 'Iliwai' crossed with Miltoniopsis Timberline 'Sunset' or something or other. If so, here is a pic of mine. I've seen crosses showing lots of white in the sepals and petals, and now, with this recent 'Red' pic, one with another totally different color representation. Where did you get yours?
