Many people must be - Las Vegas reports that the highest number of weddings ever planned for Vegas as scheduled for Saturday. More than any Valentines day or other event.

It's not just in Vegas. When I went up to Michigan the other weekend for my friends wedding on 6/23, the girl at the store she registered at told me 90% of the registries in their computer system were for 7/7/07.

I figured maybe the wives were just trying to help their husbands remember the wedding date?

In most places where gambling takes place, slot machines pay a jackpot when three sevens line up - 7- 7-7. So that is lucky. Also, in the game of craps, depending on what point the game is at, 7 is lucky. So people have latched on to 7 as a lucky number and three 7s as very lucky - hitting the jackpot!
