Wink Do you like butterflies? My Saturday in pictures!

Mr E and I took a little trip today and went to a nearby butterfly house and the park around it. It was great fun despite the awful weather! He got to practise using his new camera and this time I brought my own too They even had some orchids there - Oncidiums, Phals, Catts.

On the way back we passed by a garden centre and couldn't resist a little something to take home with us

Anyway, here are some of the pictures that I took. Not brilliant but I hope you enjoy them!

    And finally

Those mini-marks are so adorable. Great pic and this is one of those that I would love to find around here. Lucky you...

p.s. the butterflies were great...loved the one that looks like a skeleton on it's wings.

Wonderful pictures. My favorite is the green butterfly with the light blue band on each wing. It looks like it's glowing in the dark! Thanks for the photos, Elena.

Stunning butterflies! I wished our native butterflies looked like that. I saw a pretty one in Paris but I was not camera ready.

That reminds me that at the annual festival/carnival here we had a tent filled with butterflies for the first time. I don't remember how many but I heard it was a world record for the most butterflies in an indoor enclosure. They were mostly blue ones on the inside and brown on the outside, sort of like a Morpho. It was a bit too much (perhaps even sick), I feel sorry for the critters even though they have a short lifespan anyway
Here's some in riker mounts in my room:
The top one is Morpho didius Oxapama Peru Aug 2004. The bottom one is Morpho sulkowskyi descimokoenigi Peru Sept/04

Papilo ulysses ulysses Ceramis Is. Maluku Indonesia June/00

My, oh My, Elena they are gorgeous and your eye for composition is outstanding. I particularly liked the first black and white one.
