I know nothing about orchids

Hello I received a "garnett beauty FCC/AOS". It is in a small vented container, with approx. two and one half feet of root hanging. The foilage is a flat stem (resembling a travelers palm). How do I care for this beauty? I know nothing about orchids.

Hi figgy! Is that a vanda? Look it up on this forum (use the search button at the top of the page) and see what it is.

Sounds like a vanda to me as well. Post a photo if you can and we can help you identify the type of orchid and how to care for it. You can also check out this post here to see if your orchid looks like one of these. My guess it does not and is a vanda.
