A Masd. Idea

I have one cool growing Masd. every year when it gets warm the leaves drop . This year I brought it in the house before it got too warm in the greenhouse . I put it in a container with rocks on the bottom, set the plant on the rocks with a short artificial light over it , not close . I had a couple aquarium air pumps put aquarium tubing on it and set the air pump on the a/c vent ran the end of the tube into the container . So far it is holding the Temp. under 80 in the container . The pump I am using is small could use a larger one for a bigger container .. Might work ....might not .. Gin

What a 'cool' idea! hehehee...

When we first built our GH here in Arkansas, we never knew how hot it would get. In Virginia we had a big salt-water reef tank, but took it down before we moved. Anyway, to help keep the GH a little cooler in the hot summer months, we put the reef chiller on the kool-cell recycle water bin. It kept the water cool, but not really cold. We ended up adding in a huge air-conditioner to remove the humidity from the GH so that the kool-cell could actually cool the room the way it was intended. Eventually, the chiller wore out and we never replaced it (expensive & not really sure it helped all that much in the long run since the water in the kool-cell recycle bin was replaced as it evaporated throughout the day.)

I hope your expirement works. if so, package the idea and sell it! I know I want to be able to grow the cool growers. I have always wanted a Dracula. Maybe with your invention.....!

I tried a regular a/c in the green house it didn't cool the gh enough to not worry about it getting too hot if I was gone .
Then got a high pressure pump fed with rain water and hooked it to a mist fan works well but uses to much rain water .It just runs the over head mist tubes now .
Back to the under bench misters hooked to regular water it is ok as long as it does not mist the plants, to much lime, turns them white .At the other house had a large evaporative cooler thru the wall , to much humidity on the river Next greenhouse will have a cool cell wall no room in the one I have now ..
