    Default Paphiopedilum barbigerum

This species paphiopedilum from China is one I got during the SWROGA show back in May. An acquaintance I met, friend of Gin's actually, and I purchased it together because it was such a beauty of a plant full of new growths. It was in a 4 inch pot and we could tell that it had bloomed last year. We walked over to a table with Geoffrey and Gin and he broke the plant in half. I put my half in a plastic shopping bag and brought it home. It had no signs of a spike at the time, but I guess it was ready! And just look at it now!!

This is a beautiful bloom, very nice proportions and pretty color combo.
(I also like the story on how you got it!)

Thanks, Laurent. I really like it too. It was fun hanging out with Gin, Geoffrey, Sarah, and Maggie at the show. I will remember it for a long time.

    Cheers,

Lovely!! Cool story too - and wow, you only got it in may? Dang!! Maybe it was the stress from being divided, but whatever it was, it looks great now!

Gilda, so true! Probably why it bloomed so quickly for me. OR maybe it was just trying to out do the orchids Gin gave me at the show! hehehe... Thanks for looking!

    Cheers,
