    Default Phalaenopsis pallens

    Well, where do I start.... this Phalaenopsis is growing in the kitchen, and has had a spike since last year but only actually flowered this year... I'm not the best Phal grower obviously, so this was a very welcome event.

    So, then I start taking photographs... lo and behold after a dozen pics (thank goodness for digital) this was the most interesting of the pics that came out... the rest were really blurry!

    I guess, I overdid the sunlight...



    so, I took a couple more shots and well this is it...

    This is a native of the Cordillera-Caraballo mountain ranges of Luzon.

    Tim, that last shot is brilliant. Nice work. I love this bloom too. Very good shape and interesting markings.

    How interesting that all these waxy, star-shaped species phals are coming into bloom right now. I have a hybrid that I haven't been able to find information on online (the tag is probably ligthyears off) that looks a lot like these species and is spiking at the moment...I guess it got the bloom time from it's parents
