Native to Thailand and named after the Thai grower Prasong Sukhakul, Paph. sukhakulii was discovered in 1965 among a batch of collected plants of Paph. callosum. It is an extremely easy grower under standard mottled-leaf paph conditions, and can bloom several times a year. Paph. sukhakulii has been used extensively in hybridization with great success, giving rise to such distinguished progeny as Macabre (x Voodoo Magic), Iantha Stage (x rothschildianum), and Colorkulii (x concolor).

I love the history you include with your pictures....

(I was proud of that thing--two growths, both spiked and blooming for the first time, eight flowers, long petals, but small still...)
