I had some time to take some pictures of the greenhouse today.
Woohoo! we are in double-digit territory!!!
Blc. Yen Corona 'Green Genii'
A division from Katie's original Howeara Lava Burst 'Puanani' that she gave to me, now in bloom.
Mounted dendrobiums with inflorescence
Recovering grammatophyllums
Here's a grown grammatophyllum that was purchased in July
Assorted oncidinae orchids. Oncidium Twinkle in front with multiple inflorescences
Oncidium Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance'
Attack of the Clones! Its the time of year for me when these monsters start producing new growths.
Whats wrong with this one?
I love this tag lol. The vendor mistakenly placed an angraecum tag on a Laelia perinii.
And in the back row, are three Cattleya dowiana orchids of different varieties.
var. rosita, var. aurea. and var. alba.
Of course, they are seedlings so who knows if they are really as advertized lol. They could end up being var. cerulea for all I know.
Dendrobiums - just hangin' out.
I think this dendrobium went through the twilight zone. There are about 10 new growths sprouting from the base of the plant. Normally I would see 2 or 3 new growths per plant every season.
Miracle dendrobium
I would not even call this a keiki when I started. This was a fragment of a dendrobium cane that was the size of a 1-inch length of pencil.
It seems to be growing nicely though but I am letting it take its time to gather some strength.
I love psychopsis leaves. I only wish this plant had more of it lol.
On the bright side, it has two new inflorescences sprouting from the old inflorescence that I cut previously.
I have high hopes for this one. It is supposedly a Cattleya aurantiaca var. alba (syn. Guarianthe)
It is official: Miltoniopsis orchids absolutely hate me!
This is a vanda that I got early this year from an online auction vendor who has a shady reputation. Serves me right for buying something from him. This is the same vendor that Connie had problems with.
It started out as a good looking plant with a lot of leaves but the leaves just started drying up and fell off. Now it barely has more than 3 leaves at any given time. A new leaf sprouts, the lowest leaf dies.
Compare it to this vanda that I bought from an online vendor that has an outstanding reputation.
This vanda has been in my greenhouse for almost two years.
Some terrestrials (bletilla, bletia, calanthes, etc) that dont seem to like me.
Assorted seedlings, backbulbs and divisions
Assorted juvenile vandas. 3-5 years from blooming age.
I also had several pictures of the cattleyas but they still look the same as last time so I did not post them.
I hope you liked the tour!
