two leaves instead of one...

i've been wondering about this for a while (and i happen to have gotten that nifty camera for christmas...) the newish growth on this catt has two leaves instead of a leaf and a sheath like the older growths



ignore the 'sunburn' on this guy, he's already been repositioned...and the yellow sticky trap (notice fewer gnats tho...)

The reason we get two leaves on a cat instead of just one is :- Most of what we call cats are a mixture of bifolate (two leaves at the top)species as well as unifolate (one leaf at the top)species
