What is this growth on my Phrag Eric Young

I decided tonight to remove the dead sheath/leaf from the base of my Phrag. Eric young and found a growth. I have only had this plant a couple of months and it is my first Phrag so want to ask what this growth is, It might be a really stupid question but hey I really have to ask

That is good news. It will grow into the leaf fan shape you now have. The Phrag only blooms once from each growth. That new bump will produce a flower for you.

Thank you everyone, so the bump isnt a flower shoot its another leaf fan? I didnt know they only bloomed once from each fan, this is gonna be one huge plant one day! maybe too big for meI am already having trouble finding somewhere to put it. Carrie. it will take a few years to overwhelm you. The older leaf fans that have sent up flowers will slowly die off.

Oh my word, thank you for telling me that, I would have been having a heart attack if I didnt know that and the leaves started falling off So I see your point maybe he wont get too much bigger too soon.
