Bulbo omerandrum requirements?

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I bought a Bulbo affine and along with it they sent me a free Bulbo omerandrum and I cant find any information on it, it looks like a creeper and have been told that someone has theirs mounted so I might do that also, but I was wondering if anyone had any more advice on it and also the big question does it smell bad? Any advice on the affine also welcome I got them as they were miniatures and have little room at the moment for my orchids.

RonNY is the bulbo king - he will probably have an answer for you. We grow a few bulbos and have all of them potted in bark. The ones that 'creep' out of the pot, get wound around and their little roots head right back into the bark mix. They seem happy.

Thank you BD thats good to know as I dont have anywhere just now suitable for another mounted orchid unless I spray the walls with water twice a day! I will keep him in the pot for now and see what I can do with him.

Carrie...yes it can be kept in a pot...warm and humid. As we already discussed I have mine mounted but I also grow most of my chids in a greenhouse.

Thank you ron I might be better in the pot if it likes it humid, warm I can do but humid is a problem as it is under a metal halide I think the least I can do is get it on a humidity tray to try up it a little bit! my average humidity before the metal halide was 50% so will be lower I am sure from the heat of the light.

Sorry to drag this thread up again but the Bulbo omerandrum has taken a turn for the worse and the only leaf it has has died, the bulbs ( all 3 of them lol) look nice and green but the leaf has had it, any chance the plant is deciduous? its possible my humidity has been a problem as it has not grown at all since I got it but my other bulbo is doing really well and they were next to each other, it wasnt happy when I got it ( it was an unexpected freebie) the new growths were dead as they were severely dehydrated, well what I assume were the new growths, I dont know with its only leaf dying, if it has gone to the big greenhouse in the sky, I am just reluctant till I know its gone to throw it with the bulbs still being green and firm. Any advice much appreciated and sorry to be a pain!

Carrie wait and see. I don't recall this one being deciduous...but there are a few deciduous Bulbos.

Thanks Ron I might try keep it on one side and see if it does anything come spring, I really think I have killed it but with the bulbs being green I will hang onto it and see if it perks up again. Thanks for replying

I suspect it isn't suppose to be deciduous but I never throw anything out while there is still signs of like.
