Phal spiral spike

I figured I do something crazy with this plant when it decided to spike about a week after I cut off the last spike. I've been rotating it counter clock wise every 3-4 days to create this spiral looking spike. The spike is not as long as before which might be because of the spiralling or because the plant just didn't have as much energy right after the old spike was chopped off.

You can leave it be until your buds are formed and then as the buds start to open, you can turn the plant and the blooms will open toward the sun. Some people think this is unattractive, but I think it is interesting. There are so many different ways to grow orchids. Having fun with them is part of the process.
