Max. porphyrostele now in bloom

Well the flowers have opened up some, I am not sure if they will open any more or not and as yet I cannot detect a scent and she is meant to be scented, maybe once she has been open a bit longer. I am really hoping the flowers open up more.

Carrie, that's a very sweet looking little orchid. Give her another day or two, and I'm sure she'll be opening more.

Thanks Anne and Ron, I do like her but I am a litle dissapointed that I cant smell anything and that the flowers arent open more but she only opened last night so there is hope yet. The colour is nice thats for sure. Does anyone know how noticeable the fragrance of this guy is meant to be, maybe my nose just isnt picking it up.

Carrie, I have a nose that doesn't work well, so if mine have scent, I can never tell. I have read though, that sometimes the orchids only exude scent at certain times of the day, so maybe you just need to be patient.

Yes Anne good point I will have another good sniff later, see if anything is there, if not I will keep on sniffing for a couple of days as it might just take some time to come out.

Congratulations, Carrie! They are so beautiful!!! I will still keep my fingers crossed for the last bud.
The bloom may open a bit more and if she just opened last night give her another day for the fragrance!

Carrie...it may not be fragrant because I believe it it might be mislabeled.

HMM that looks very different to my little guy and the growth habit is different to ones I saw when I searched for it this grows in a similar fashion to Tenuifolia that its climbing a bit not as pronounced as tenuifolia but is still causing me a potting problem. I looked as I also was unsure if it was correctly labelled. All i can say is thats what I bought it as but I think you might be right and it is something else. It is pretty enough but I have no idea how I would go about finding what this little guy is. I am pretty sure ( as sure as a noobie can be) that its a max but other than that I am clueless, its possible its a hybrid I suppose. I have bought two other plants off the same person and I am wondering about those I know that one of them is misspelt but I will wait for the flowers to appear to get help on the correct name for that guy it is in bud now. The other is a small seedling of hknsa Sogo Doll so I will wait see in a couple of years what she turns out to be LOL
