Those who have been following my recent posts will know that I have been complaining about the rain.Last weekend there was a break in the weather so the Mrs and I decided to go for a drive and before we knew it we had covered over 50 miles. We realised we were quite close to a friend's place and decided to pay him a visit to see his orchids. Was fascinated by some of his species that were blooming.
Pic #1 - Bulb longissimum with petals measuring over 30 ins!
Pic #2 - Habenaria carnea, rare and found only in the limestone area here in
the state of Perlis showing the beautiful leaves.
Pic #3 - Flowers of Habenaria carnea, faded a bit; normally light pink
Pic #4 - Den bracteosum from Papua New Guinea - dark pink form
Sorry for the poor photos as I had to use the Mrs' compact digital camera.I had left my DSLR at home.
