Not sure why "Greenbird" -- it's more yellow than anything else. Unsure whether it is the amount of light intensity or temps that dictate how much purple shows up in the lip but it does vary. In real life it is a brighter yellow than this.

Another to add to my wish list. Beautiful! And it's nearly a primary hybrid. What does the flower measure?

That is a great looking bloom and photo. It does look more yellow, but it still has a greenish color too. It is very pretty.

    Cheers,

Jeff, the flowers are approximately 2.25 inches (roughly 5.5 cm) across.

Since you mentioned it is "nearly a primary hybrid", you have me curious -- what is it's parentage?

Lc. Pixie Gold (L. flava x C. luteola) x Epi. cordigerum
It doesn't take after the Epi. cordigerum at all.

Very nice. It really does have a bird-like stature...at least to me....but I'm not the brightest bulb sometimes....

Wow! That was a surprise. No, I'd have to agree, the Epi. cordigerum parent doesn't seem to have had any input at all in the flower!
