Newly acquired plants...
another aerides for my collection...
You can have these later when you will travel within your neighboring provinces. I acquire these from your island. In Mindanao, only one Aerides is found, Aerides lawrenciae. They are plenty and very common but I'm waiting for the white form to bloom.
Hi Derek,
keep one for me, please!!!!!!!!!!!
impressive spur on those!
It looks almost like an Aerides quinquivulnera to me.
What's the difference between the two? Or are these just one and the same under 2 different names???
Those are very healthy plants, i haven't seen that cultivar though. I have one which is not healthy looking because it is in Batangas which is very hot in summer. Is it okay if i post my photo here (in this thread) so i can ask you what is its species? Maybe it is the lawrenciae which you said is common.
@Lanhua
I'll send you the information through mail.
@Jojo
Although they display same coloration and sizes of their flowers and leaves but the only difference both is their hypochile or spur.
Aerides quinquevulnera - curved
Aerides inflexa - bending
They have also different flowering season in Philippines.
Aerides quinquevulnera - July to September
Aerides inflexa - January to March
Nice new plants thereWish I could get orchids like that here without having to have them mailed >.>
