Inherited Orchid Id Conundrum

Hi All I recently inherited 30 assorted cymbids as well as these two which i don't know what they are. I am sure the first will be no challenge to you all, but the second I think might be somewhat out of the ordinary. Take a peak and let me know if you know what they are.

I agree. The first one really needs to be repotted too.

What a nice epidendrum plant...they are very hardy. I agree with the above...time to repot.

I am suitably impressed All . An epidendrum, would sound correct, for the second one. I have never herd of the first one. Hi Ho Hi Ho and off to research I go.

Just spent the last 2hrs of sunlight repotting 15/30 cymbids I also got. Altogether not too bad but full of disease. only one which was in mud has no roots left, so on a humidity try in moss.

Time to repot my other beauties tomorrow when i know what to use to pot or mount them in/on.

Are those all Kikies that are hanging down outside the pot? There are only two cane like growth on the top of the pot. If they are Keikeis should i just leave them where they ae or pot them up?

I read that coelogyne do not like to be repotted? We are going in to winter here, should i still repot? Also is there any way to find out if it is one of the cold growing varieties? so vaugue No flowers TOO! i will try to get some more info from the person i got it from.

I was just noticing how sad it looks in its current pot. The new growth should be placed toward the center of the pot so it can grow roots in the new medium. The stuff it is in now looks very old and dark. I bet the roots need to be cleaned up a bit too.

As for coelogyne culture, we only have a couple and treat them pretty much like our oncidiums (which is not to say that I treat them very well at all - lol). Maybe someone who grows these can chime in and offer some more experienced advice.

My thoughts, are the same as yours, especially if you consider that i rescued this and the other from 2" of standing water. I am going to repot anyway, give it a lot of love and hope for the best.
