To me this looks like a keiki forming (center of pic, between leaves), but from all the pics I've looked at this plant seems to form keikis at the base of the plant, not 1/3 the way up.
What do you think?

That is one creepy looking picture! I don't know much about this species, but it sure looks like that to me as well. The way it is splitting fits its growth habit. You should do follow-ups as it develops so we can see how it turns out.
Matt
Hi , They form multiple growths not really a keiki . one that is removed , I made that mistake . lol . I have 2 of the Neos. . will post a picture of it back on this thread. One of the growths is about like yours not at the base , which is where it usually grows them . If left they will form a nice full clump and a lot more blooms . Gin aka grandma![]()
They do this. Just don't ever pluck it. I would emphasize that people don't pluck the keikes from these plants. The keikes will bloom if you don't and will take forever to bloom if you pull them.
Pluck ,Pluck, that is why I have 2 of them , it took forever for it to reach a decent sizeGin
Thanks.
Guess what?
This plant was a keiki someone plucked from their plant. It took forever to do ANYTHING. At least it seem to be growing faster now. They're still kind of cool looking plants. Who needs flowers in their lifetime anyway? Right?
haha mike. where were you when i was repotting my cycnoches and ripped the keiki off.
hehe. oh well. now i will have two plants that will take forever to flower. go me!
