    Default Oersterdella psuedoschummaniana

    Hi

    This is the first bloom of the Oersterdella psuedoschummaniana that I got from a nursery in Panama. A second plant is in spike.

    I wish I had a blue cattleya in flower now as the lip on this is so blue it is stunning - pity my camera cant quite capture it. I wonder what you might get if you crossed it to a good blue catt. Well, I guess its one of the future to try.

    I will self and outcross this plant. I wonder about heat tolerance. It must have some as the seller was growing it in Panama City.

    Beautiful, Haven't seen one before. From Panama City? So must be warm growing. I will be on the lookout for one.Can this genus interbreed with cattleya?
