I just haven't had any troubles with the plant, nor with the fungal thing spreading to any nearby plants (and they are close packed.) I have no problem treating it, but does it hurt the Epi? Seems the canes lose their leaves anyway.

The 'old banana peel' description was my own, but the guys at _________ knew exactly what I meant by it, so I figured it was an accurate description.

It's comforting to know that while an orchid will never likely be named after me, perhaps a fungus might...

It does happen in my GH but then again I am always battling fungul bacteria problems and have to break out the big guns a few times a year to keep it in control. It's all my fault though, too many plants in too small a GH.

I have not noticed that it harms a plant in any way but is unsightly.

My preference is that you use the description. If you must refer to the fungus as 'Julie', I suppose I could live with it, but it's not my first choice.
