very nice species, love it!
very beautiful... i love it.
Daniel, very nice flowers. How big is the plant?
Wow! gorgeous!! the red spot on the lip looks like the vermilion that women in India wear on their forehead!
Straight it goes to the wish-list! BTW, what are its culture requirements?
Is that one of the dendrobium phaleonopsis, or something simalar?
Gosh that is pretty. I love the blood red spot in the pure white of the bloom. The purple tips at the edges of the orchid bloom is just an added bonus!
Cheers,

- Discovered by JJ. Smith in 1905 but lost since 1925. This orchid was rediscovered mid-2006.
- This warm growing orchid is native from Sumatra (Lampung) and its pseudobulbs reach up to 3 meters long in the wild (my plant is 75 cm high).
- Its flowers are about 4 cm in diameter.
- This orchid belongs to the 'calcarifera group' and is close to the dendrobium sanguinolentum.
> dendrobium sanguinolentum
A striking flower. That red on the lip and the violet at the tips, looks hand painted.
