Arachnostylis chorchalood, thailand

hi folks,

this is a plant from thailand and its parents are
arachnis hookeriana x rhynchostylis gigantea.
growth habit is very much like arachnis, grows from the ground several meters tall.

Very nice one, Ron. I see that Arachnis hookeriana seems to dominate in this cross.How long is the spike and how many flowers on the spike? Is it possible to post a picture of the whole plant?

Great looking orchid flower, Ron. I like the spots and color. Seeing the plant would be cool to as Yew suggests - if you have a shot.

spike is about half a meter, 10 -15 blooms.

Love the flower. Unfortunately, arachnis and its hybrids possessing its tall growth habit and need for full sun makes this plant impractical (and impossible) to grow for me in my cramped, townhouse grow area.

Jojo not all arachnis crosses are tall. Indeed in this particular cross I would expect quite a compact plant (by vandaceous standard). Arachnis hookeriana itself is not tall and Rhyncostylis gigantea though 'wide', flowers at quite a low height.

The same cannot be said for Arachnis flos-aeris. Most of its hybrids are large, tall plants.
