I have met a few I don't like, but then they give me those puppy dog eyes and I start to melt. Paphs are a good example. First few times I saw them, eeewwwwww. Now I love them. They kinda "grow" on you. And I have both specie and hybrid.

a good thread this and while we are on it...
specie=is an ancient coin
species would be always the correct word here.

I have a friend who does species photography for fishes, plants and orchids. He has works published by Tropical Fish Hobbyist and pictures used for online references like fishbase. He goes by the following saying.
He said and I quote: "If it cannot be found in the wild, I am not going to shoot."
That is how strong someone can feel towards species and hybrids.

Thanks, everyone, for the great information. I don't have anyplace local to buy orchids anymore. The only local grower closed his greenhouse last year due to illness. Can anyone tell me some good online sites to purchase orchids (including paphs and compact phrags)? I think I'm more drawn to species, but I do like some of the hybrids also.
