My nepenthes is growing nicely, but the pitchers aren't developing for some reason. I love the sarracenia...the red is so pretty. I would love to grow these...are they relatively easy?

I also just realised that if your soil is fertile, the nepenthes will not pitch. NEVER fertilise the soil of the Nepenthes for it to start pitching. If you want the pitchers to be big, drop one Osmocote into an old pitcher and the next few pitchers will be bigger then the old ones.

Both sarracenia's are pretty, the 1st seems to be a hybrid involving leucophylla and the
2nd one may be purpurea or a hybrid of. The Nep looks like a truncata to me. You can
actually try to fertilize nepenthes but depending on the specie... for me ampularia and bicalcarata are responding well with fertilization. Aside from 1 osmocote per pitcher per
plant I place 3-5 osmocote on the media.

The nep is a Truncata alright.I am not good in CP though

Well if you think thats a giant pitcher... wait till it gives you pitchers the size of softdrinks
bottles. You may want to put those sarracenia's in a tray with about 2-3cm of water. And
give them full sun.
