What you need is a papaya pickerI've never had papaya that fresh...my tummy is starting to rumble just looking at them!!!
I do, I do, I like it...what would I give I could pluck this fruit.... I could buy papaya in our grocery store but the taste of this fruit here is so far away from this juicy taste you have there.
I see these trees around town. They look so cool with their little floof of leaves. When we had our really bad cold last winter alot of them were ruined. One of our neighbors' plants literally rotted halfway up and the tree just fell over. I should try fresh papaya someday...you all make it sound delicious.
Zainal, I like it very much. Delicious.
P.
I know that they are good for you but I can't get the smell past my nose.
I once went on an expedition to a bit of Thailand which had been out of bounds for many years ( the last stronghold of the communist insurgency) a mountain range called, I think, Chiang Dao - actually looking for some of the brachysephalous paphs in flower - and found myself so far outside the area of tourist infrastructure that I had to barter or buy these fruits from the Hill Tribe villagers , and live off them for the four or five days I was there - apart from some bowls of rice I also managed to buy - regrettably and maybe inevitably I picked up a stomach bug ( campylobacter, I think it was called) which it took 18 months of periodic antibiotics to get rid of ; it has put me off rice for a long time now, but I still love Papaya - just wish we could decent ones in an English supermarket - the ones we can get are a travesty of the real thing. So, hey Zainal Abadin - just throw one my way , will you ?
