Cheers,
I got this hoya a while back and since then I have never seen it flower.
Anyways just a few days after Christmas I noticed that it is budding so I said to
myself I hope this one opens just in time for the fireworks.... so the morning of
Dec31, I looked at it and seems nothing is going on, around 5pm of the same
day I looked at it again and nothing changes... so I have already given up hope
that it'll open on that day.... at around 11pm just as i was preparing our
fireworks and the neighbors are already firing up theirs, I noticed a very strong
floral fragrance when I past by my grow area... at first i thought that it may
be the Brassavola Little Stars as it was in bloom then... but then I noticed that
the fragrance is not like that of a Little Stars... so I looked closely and lo and
behold the hoya has opened its buds. I was very ecstatic then so I grabbed
for the camera and took this photo, hopefully someone can Id it, im not a big fan
of hoya's but this changed my mind so i guess i'll be growing more hoyas soon aswell.
The flower didnt last long tho, just barely a week but yesterday I looked at it again
and its budding from the same spot where it has bloomed before.

It is very common for hoya blooms to be short-lived -- one or two weeks is about the max for any I know of. However, many will rebloom from the same peduncle (area from which flowers emerge) over and over again.
