Tremendous natural specimen plant potential. I saw a number of massive plants of this in Ecuador. Seems like it holds its leaves really well and just keeps growing.

You have a amazing collection of miniature orchids and the foliage on many of these (most of them) is more attractive than many of the larger hybrids/ species orchids. These Masdevailla flowers are really something special. AL
Gosh, that is so cool. I wish I could grow some Masdevallias. Its just too warm here.
Lovely orchid plant and blooms.
Cheers,

Another excellent specimen!! Congrats Duane.
Amazing!! I just got into masdies and am about to get my first bloom. This one I will be looking for.
I started out as a Paph. fancier, and quickly got into Pleurothallids when I started running out of space. I like how constant they are - so long as I provide constant moisture, they provide constant growth!
Duane, how are you keeping them cool enough?
The short answer is: growing in the basement.
A more elaborate answer can be found in this thread: http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...ooks-like.html
Basically, I try to reduce the amount of heat that comes off my lights into the terrarium, I keep the plants well watered, the terrarium has good air movement, and I use a fogger. Where I am using pots, I use clay. Between these, it stays pretty nice. Masd. nidifica isn't too picky about temps - it doesn't like to dry out, though!
