According to IOSPE, Lepanthes horrida means "the horrible Lepanthes". It doesn't make sense. Flower has no odor. If the majority of Lepanthes look like this one, I would have heavily invested in Lepanthes.
Someone told me "horrida=bristled=prickly". I am not sure it refers to the hairs on the stem. Certainly no hairs on the flower. Any Latin expert here?

Haha.. just saw the one that Duane posted. Betty seemed to think it looked like a 'little red devil' - hahah... I can see why everyone likes it though. Appears very prolific and has lovely blooms.

Mine blooms more at this time of the year. This clone does have good color and I am very pleased with it.
