pulled-of flowers, not fallen

Hello!!
Soooooo I kinda just dropped my phal, and all of the flowers were kinda pulled off I guess. Is he going to be okay?? I know the flowers are supposed to come off after about 6-12 weeks, but this time they didn't come off naturally, and I just want to make sure he'll survive.

I second Yew. Orchids are pretty tough...as long as the roots don't stay too wet and mushy, I'm sure he will survive!

Occasionally, I will chop off a flower spike prematurely if I think that the plant is better off putting its energy into vegetative growth. It will be just fine.

It will be fine. Yesterday I was in the greenhouse and caught my beautiful Paph Susan Booth's top bloom/bud in the handle of a bucket I was carrying and knocked it off of the shelf. The plant toppled to the gravel floor and the top bud was broken off of the spike. The plant will survive, but I am sick to my stomach about the bud. Oh well... things like this happen...

Thank you all so much!! you really put my mind at ease. I cut the flower stem-like thing back to about an inch, and told the boyfriend it was TOTALLY on purpose lol.

haha, the reason i was worried was becuase when he got it for me, he said he wasn't going to get me any more if this one dies in less than 2 years, or something like that.

Two YEARS?!?! He's not going to buy you any more for two years?!?! I think you need to have a talk with your fellow, Magda... This sounds like a cop-out to me. I count on you to show him the error of his ways.

haha, it was something in the pamphlet that came with my phal that the blooms lasted like 2 years or something. he said that this is a practice run, and if i can ceep it alive he'll get me more.
