Nice one Wolf...As for Vandas and medium, I grow most of mine on galv. wire hooks bent into an elongated "S" shape. I set the plant on the bottom curve of the "S" (with its 'face' facing away from the wire,) use cable ties to secure it to the wire in one or two places, and drape some Spanish Moss over the roots...Hang in the greenhouse or on a tree branch, and you're set. So no...they don't need any medium, or even a basket for that matter...
That could get really interesting, fix up a little track for the wires to be carried along on. Have one mister head going and turn on a motor so they all run through the mist.... Hmmm ideas ideas. Sorta like those tracks at dry cleaners and you could have a remote and bring around the orchid of your choice. Hmmm
Boy...you got some imagination...I think you should recommend that to Bob Fuchs...get one of those setups from a dry cleaners...customers could sit and drink a cold one and stop the parade with a remote when they see one they like...Oh the possibilities...
How about one of the light tracks they use for indoor growing ? A remote? lolol ...never mind .. he he .. Gin
Hmmmm evil scientist ideas working
Uhhh....evil scientist ideas or Rube Goldberg ideas????![]()
A little moderation of both is in order I think.
umm, errr, who's Rube Goldberg? and I like the Sushi Train idea but instead of sushi you pick orchids as they go past!!!
Cheers
Tim
He's a guy who did drawings of fantastical machines made to do the simpelest things like wake you up and cook breakfast... Rube
Maybe when I get my own green houses and set up a franchise of RVO then I'll make it with floating boats carrying the potted ones and the dry cleaning track system for baskets and mounties
