To add to your confusion, Onc. Sharry Baby 'Velvet Maroon' looks like Onc. Heaven Scent 'Sweet Pea'. 'Velvet Maroon' has a pinkish lavender lip, not the white lip that most of the Sharry Baby's have.

I agree with Jordan, that a small bark mix should be used. ( I use: 60 % bark, 20 % perlite, and 20 % charcoal ) Be sure to soak everything overnight before re-potting...Betty

Actually, I just purchased a onc. Heaven Scent "Sweet Pea" a few days ago. It is in spag. so I need to re-pot. I'll post a picture of the flowers when I get it to bloom...Might be a few months, though...Betty :-)
Khayael, Can you update on what you ended up doing and has it bloomed yet? thanks alot

Hi Khayael, I have one onc. Howards Dream and I have had it for atleast (5) years. In that time it has bloomed every year with 3 to 4 spikes. I have never divided it so it has gotten quite large, I have potted it in AUSSIE GOLD since I have had it, never a problem. HANK....
Hi Nenella! I repotted this oncidium using commercial orchid mix from the big box store and it's doing fine. The spike only gave me 4 flowers that already fell. Right now I'm looking at them... here on my desk.![]()
The change from the moss to bark, and all the cutting and cleaning wasn't easy, the moss was very compacted and it had lots of dead roots.
Here is how its flowers looked like.
