Phal is turning mushy

I have three phals, one is doing nothing but it's green. One has sprouted a new leaf and one is turning mushy. It had a new leaf sprout and I noticed today that was getting mushy. It has to bloom spikes, I've cut back to the node, but they are turning brown and the buds are mushy as well. The other two phals are fine and all three get the same amount of water, sun light and heat. Why is this third one mushy?

Was any water left sitting in between the leaves? A photo would help if you can post one.

Possibly water got into the crown of the plant and didn't have time to dry before night. This can cause rotting.

No, I make sure I don't the crown does not get wet. This has been a slow process, it started out with large leaves and they are dark green and started to shrivel. Now the new leaf is starting to do the same thing.

If this is rot, it is either bacterial or fungal. The first thing to do is move the sick phal away from the other two. If this is bacterial or fungal, it could spread. I like to then wipe everything but the roots down with alcohol to try to lessen the number of spores or bacteria on the healthy plants. For the sick plant: cut an inch away from the sick part of the leaf and use alcohol on the cut. I would then clean this plant with alcohol as you did the other two. I then apply cinnamon to the wound and put the sick plant in a very warm, very dry spot. I clean the plant daily for a few days with the alcohol and check often to make certain it doesn't spread. This has worked for me but to be certain, you might want to treat this with a recommended product.

I don't see anything growing on the plant, A friend had it and I wonder if it was over watered.
