beautiful orchid!
your bulbo collection is amazing!!!
Is the scent like that of rotting fruit then, Zain? Impressive photo with all the flies on the flower. I could imagine a spider or gecko very happily "setting up shop" next to the flowers.![]()

Cool orchid! So the bloomnonly ,asts 10 hours?
Cool bulbo orchid photos. That last one is fascinating with all the flies.
cheers,

Actually when no fruit flies it may last almost about a week however these insects keep collecting the perfume oil with their proboscis, moving around the flower several time finally remove the cap and pollen. Bulbo species are very sensitive flowers once you remove the pollen soon the flower wilt, this is through my observation on this genera. Thanks Gustavo.

haha, today i was smacked face on with the stench of B.basisetum when i try to pollinate it. think yours should be almost the same thing. Love B.stockerii... I do wish i have some too
Cheers
