Amazing
It is a peloric form - the lip is actually a modified petal ; when the other two petals have the same modification, that makes a peloric orchid. It can happen to more or less extent - sometimes it is just a splash of colour , and in extreme cases it is an exact copy of the lip.
The exact point in the bud development where this occurs, when the petal development splits into two, one of which undergoes the changes to make the lip and the other doesn't has now been worked out , I read it in a scientific paper the other day somewhere . It made quite fascinating reading and I would imagine that these genetic engineering chaps would be able to induce it artificially now ( shudder - god I hope not - I hate peloric forms , although I am happy to read about them)
Cute orchid. I rather like the peloric forms due to the complexity it adds to the bloom. I wouldn't want all my orchids to be this way but a few are fun and definately add interest especially when used in floral designs.

Most unusual, and VERY pretty! Betty
I think it's beautiful, such a vibrant color. Thanks for sharing.
The petals remind me phal appendiculata so nice.
Very nice!
I like the peloric to it too.
