No frogs in mine...but it is the first blooming for me, after a year, so I'm pretty excited.

Beautiful!!! The photograpy skills are great too.
oooohhh... aaaaah...
"Julie, watch out for the mud... I'll just hold on to this one, shall I"
As Shalene said, you've really outdone yourself with composition on this picture! Bewdiful!
Mine's on it's last flower... not complaining though, it's been around for yonkers...
I'd say this hybrid is one of the success stories of the orchid hybridising... it has the beatiful colours of philippinense's petals and the fun, quirky dorsal spots of the haynaldianum!
Great growing, Julie. Just super.
Thanks Shalene and Tim!
Tim, you may have noticed that your photo and mine are quite different, for the same cross. My dorsal and synsepal (top and bottom flaps on the flower) on the lebaudyanum are very curled back. That's all Haynaldianum influence. Yours looks much more like Philppense. That got me wondering if our plants might have different pod parents (whose traits are more pronounced.) Sure enough, my tag lists Haynaldianum first (the pod parent is listed first). In the discussion with your photo, you mentioned Philippense first, so I'm assuming that's how your tag reads. Is it? Very cool - the variations in the flowers!
Gin, which is yours?
Julie
Thanks, Diane!

Excellent blooms & piccies.
Julie,
my bad... just had a look at the tag and it says Paph Lebadyanum (haynaldianum x philippinense)...
and I was wondering, I did an update pic post where the dorsal twisted back as well.. so maybe they are pretty similar... it would be awesome to see what one with the philippinense as a pod parent would be like... hmm... I will have to search for one.
cheers
tim
Tim,
What was the post? I'm just hypothesizing on all of this, and assuming my tag is correct...but the head-on shots of yours and mine were very different. I'll try and post a head-on tomorrow.
Julie
Julie...
the first flower of mine opened early december.... and at christmas day, this was what they looked like...
so the dorsal did reflex back a bit...
cheers
