Need help with a few Neofinetias

I bought three Neofinetia Falcata variants and have not seen much in terms of growth in the nine months i've had them.

They're currently in a west facing window in my new apartment, however they were receiving light from a chip tech LED bulb for a period in my last apartment. I've tried numerous different humidities and lighting techniques, but I can't seem to get anything positive out of them. They aren't dying, but they aren't thriving either.

Any suggestions anyone?

Look into the temperature profile they are receiving. Orchids are CAM plants (they photosynthesize differently from other plants) night time temperatures are very critical for carbon fixation, if they are too high or too low then the plant will not photosynthesize, use up its stored carbon for respiration and eventually die. Neofinetias get the most amount of light during the winter and spring in their native habitats, may be even if they are in rest that could be a key to good growth? Anyone with experience in Neos, can you corroborate this?

I'll see what cooling them down at night will do, other than that I'm doing everything correctly, save say humidity. That I haven't recorded since my move.

So I started to open the window of the sill that they are sitting on ever so slightly at night and sure enough. My Shutenno is now growing 4 roots simultaneously. Nothing of note on the others, but what a dramatic difference. Thank you so much! These are my new lovely ruby red root tips.

I read through all the post and this one seems like the closed one I can find for the question I am having. Now with all that said this is a small "angel"neo plant and on one side of the plant it looks fine the other side is turning dark the leaves are the pine leaf type and its going up one side of the middle leaf now I have neo's but not this small. If I knew they were going to send one so tiny I would have not ordered it from this orchid company. any help and tell me what is doing ll my other neos are larger. I dont want to loose it but I just do not know what it could be doing.

Hi HHLL38,

Yea with mine they are very slow growers and when one starts acting up out of the blue your about nus trying to figure out what the heck do I do. I have a very old on but remember the older the more leaves and the more blooms and the fragrance is very worth the wait.
