Cause for new growths turning brown?

I have a fairly healthy Epc. Siam Jade, at least I think it is. Two of the pbulbs have had 3 new growths at the base turn brown. They were just the little nubs of what would have been new pbulbs. If it was just one I wouldn't think much of it. But today when watering I noticed all 3 potential growths are dead. Wondering if this is normal or if something is wrong.

did they turn brown and mushy? Or just brown and dead? Could be a fungal problem.

When new p-bulbs are first emerging, they don't like to be super wet. If you don't already spray for fungal/bacterial infection, you may want to start. If you don't have those types of chemicals at your disposal and need to know what to buy private message me and I will tell you what I use. Until then; get some kitchen cinnamon, some rubbing alcohol and a few new razor blades. Cut the brown keikei off, dust area with cinnamon powder. If the tip of a leaf is brown, cut off that section, dust with cinnamon and swab rest of leaf surface with rubbing alcohol. Anything brown and/or squishy must be removed, scraped off, cut off... Keep this plant a little drier and shaded for a week or two, and segregate from your collection. After working with any infected plant, wash your hands and clean under your nails carefully. It is important that you never let water from an infected plant drip onto another plant as this can easily transfer the infection to other plants. Best of luck...

It's not mushy. It turned brown and simply died I guess. The brown is only on the new growth and hasn't spread anywhere else.
I did take a picture and can't believe I forgot to post it. It's on another computer and I will be able to get to it tonite.
