My shopping list and need some serious input

So folks! Now I have placed this order and read all about their culture and all,my half cell brain prefers members experience on how "not to kill" these orchids.

Bulbophyllum medusae

Brassavola digbyana

Cattleya walkeriana var. coerulea

Dendrobium amboinensis

Dendrobium cucumerinum

Dendrobium hymenanthum

Dendrobium munificum (m.s)

Dendrobium tetragonum

Haraella retrocalla

Habenaria medusa

Any help will be most appreciated.

I have grown a few of these. What area are you in and where do you grow your orchids? (Outdoors, greeenhouse, window, ect???)

Why Dendrobium amboinensis? It is a beautiful species but the flower is only open for a few hours

Well, the Dendrobium tetragonum is one I grow. And I managed to bloom it a couple times so far. Mine is in a tiny pot, I have seen others mounted on tree fern placques. Mine wasn't doing too great so I sat the tiny pot into a larger pot that contains a couple epidendrum sections. Both get sat on shelves close to the Vanda section so they get watered a little more often, lots of sun and high humidity. Hope that helps...

Ron, they will grown in a greenhouse. I just pick my orchids according to the looks and colours of their flowers, perhaps it is the wrong way to pursue this addiction...

Thank you, Cjcornen, I will definitely place it into tiny pot. I did read about needing more watering than other Dendrobium but not a mention of confined space.

Brassavola digbyana (Rhyncholaelia digbyana) needs high light and to dry between waterings with reduced waterin in the winter

Dendrobium tetragonum I grow mine mounted, medium light, water often when in growth drier in the winter.

Dendrobium cucumerinum cute gherkin-like leaves, mine is mounted on cork in high light

Cattleya walkeriana mounted in medium high light

Bulbophyllum medusae better grown in a slat basket or treefern basket. likes it moist and Phal light

Nothing the matter with growing what appeals to you.

Ron,you are awesome...millions of thank you's. Never tried mounting but was reading "how to mount orchids" by Julie, I will follow her directions this week end and see if I can do it properly.

There are plenty of B. digbyana on the market that will never flower.Don't ask me why but it's a well known fact in Europe. So if buying one of these try and get one that is a proven bloomer.
