    Default Happy Dendrobium orchid?

    I have a Dendrobium spectabile which I received last year. It is of blooming size and looks to have bloomed many times previously. It has not bloomed for me - yet. Anyway, it has started a new cane - which I was really chuffed about - and I have noticed that there is happy sap on it at the tip. Does this means anything significant or do all canes produce sap at this stage of development? What I am really wondering is whether or not it is a pre cursor to a spike being in the making.

    Not sure if they all do but I have the exact same orchid that has put out two new pseudos for me this year and it has the same substance (sap) when its bulbs are forming. My catts with p-bulbs do the same thing.Name: photo (5).JPG Views: 326 Size: 120.6 KB

    Thanks for letting me know Ryan. I shall not get too excited about the possibility of blooms anytime soon then.
