Got a yellow, limp leaf overnight

First I want to thank you for all of the help that you have been to me. I really appreciate it!
The roots for the most part were greenish and felt firm. Some were brown and squishy and I cut those out. The medium was wet so I took it out and dried it in the sun and left the plant inside. The roots dried out a bit while I was waiting. I dried the medium just enough to leave it a little damp. I misted the now dry roots with some water and put everything back together. The plant shows that it was disturbed but I think [ hope] it will be alright. I'm glad I took it apart now. I fear that the roots may have rotted if i hadn't.
The leaf that has the split asross it is now turning to the yellow side. I guess I'm going to loose it. It probably couldn't take the shock of being disturbed? How long before the plant will show signs of "coming back" after it's been taken out of the pot? It doesn't look awful bad but does look a little sick. Thanks odabel

The plant shouldn't mind disturbance if it's not flowering. When in bloom, you always run the risk of loosing some flowers or near-to-blooming buds, should the plant get pissed off.

As for wet medium, if it hasn't broken down, in need of replacing, it will dry out fairly quickly, so you shouldn't need to dry it out. Just don't water too frequently now. Sounds like you have a good root base. That's the best news!

If the break on the leaf was recent, it may yellow and may fall off. Many times they'll split or break and keep on growing fine. It's when whole leaves start yellowing and dying that you have a more serious problem. A break is not a sign of slow death - it's easily recoverable.

Sounds like you're doing fine. Err on the side of watering a bit less. Let it just dry out between waterings. When in doubt, wait a day. You should do well!
