Encyclia adenocaule aka Epidendrum nemorale

I bought this plant labelled as Encyc cordigera semi-alb, which clearly it isn't.
However a little investigation shows that there are only about 3 pink Encyclias, and the identification becomes certain from the flower stem, which is covered with these curious glands, making it rough to the touch. In fact one of the synonyms is Encyc verrucosa - and verrucosa is Latin for warty, or rough.
Flowers about 3inch, 8cm or so. Pleasant perfume , along the lines of some cattleyas, which are fairly near relations. Flower stem some 30 inches high.
According to the books it could have more flowers, but this is a first flowering after three years culture,ande maybe I can grow it bigger and better next year.

This orchid has a good look. The shape and color create an eye pleasing match. Some of my favorite orchids "are not what I bought". I am waiting for one to bloom that was bought as a mini and has 26 inch leaves!

Gorgeous flowers! (And excellent photo as well.) Would love to have this one, but considering the size of that flower spike, that is not to be. I will just have to live vicariously through you, Geoff.

It just so happens that I was searching how to pot this plant. It was in what appeared to be a mixture of fir bark and coconut husks. From what I read it needs good drainage and likes cool temps with lots of light. I was planning on mixing medium fir bark, coconut husks and medium perlite. I was also planning on growing under lights in the house. Is there something I am missing or should change? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

I also read about using somewhere in the mix moss and peat. Not sure where that fits in.
