wow love this one, I got several encyclia when I first started growing orchids and not one has ever bloomed for me, except the one native species to Florida, don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Ed, your so good with Vanda's that Encyclia's ought to be easy for you. They tend to like bright light which you have and when in their growth cycle they like plenty of water. The Encyclia Cordegeria hybrids like Very bright sun to bloom!, though they'll still grow plenty with less light. I don't know if any of this helps you, but they are certainly less demanding than a lot of other orchids I can think of. AL

wow, that one is dofferent than the usual brown encyclia. good job with 60 flowers! and i agree on light, i give my encyclias (not the cockleshells) in this family much more light than most orchids.

thanks Al, they hang with my vandas and grow ok, I guess they are my Achilles heel of orchids

A beautiful Enc and so floriferous. We'll done Al on such a healthy specimen.
